appel-havermout crumble

Apple and oat crumble (free from gluten & sugar)

Today I wanted to post this yum recipe of apple and oat crumble. First I decided on a different title, being: “easy apple crumble”. However after failing at the first ánd second attempt because the crumble decided to melt like hot lava, I couldn’t sell the title to myself: apparently it’s not that easy. Although everyone on the internet states that it’s super-easy-peasy-unicorn and it’s impossible to fail, I’m assured that everyone is in on that together. With me as the living proof. Oh, and I’m sorry: I accidentally made a healthy version as well.

Being healthy and all of that, it does provide the perfect breakfast for that ultimate weekend feeling.

What do you need for this recipe (serving 1 person)?

For the filling

  • 1 big, sweet apple
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of grated almonds
  • 1/8 of lemon

For the crumble

  • 35 grams of gluten free oats
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • a pinch of salt
  • a pinch of cinnamon

How to prepare this apple and oat crumble?

Get a small oven dish of around 12 centimeters. If you prefer to make a larger portion, take a bigger oven dish.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C.

Peel the apple and dice it. Mix the chopped apple with cinnamon, the almonds and the juice of the slice of lemon. Fill the oven dish with the spiced apple.

Then we’ll start with the crumble: weigh the oats and add them to a blow. Add the honey, melted coconut oil and a pinch of salt and mix it with your hands. Crumble the mixture of oats on top of the diced apple. Finish with a bit of cinnamon on top.

Put the oven dish into the oven for about 25-30 minutes. Let it cool a bit before taking your bite, it’s hot!
